Know Your Golf Clubs - Your Golf Putting - Use These Putting Practice Tips

Filed under: Sports + Movement — admin @ 10:13 am

To begin golf game, your golf practice game or your golf putting
practice; study the art of keeping your eye on the golf ball.
When putting it seems to be just natural to let your eyes follow
the backswing. To correct this you might turn the golf ball
until the brand is on top. Then just keep your eyes on that.

When putting, think of the golf swing as a pendulum and as you
move through this area, strike the golf ball with the sweet spot
only. What? Huh?

How do you find the sweet spot? Hold your putter using the thumb
and forefinger. You are dangling it now and letting it swing.

With the other forefinger tap the putter blade until the putter
head rebounds straight back in perfect alignment. That is the
sweet spot for this putter. Some players mark it.

To judge the distance of the backswing try this exercise. Use
your right big toe as a guide and take the putter back to your
right big toe.

Now, being consistent with your speed accelerate the club head
through the ball and watch how far that ball rolls. You might
try this in both wet and dry conditions. This gives you the
ability to gauge from there how long the backswing should be for
the putt you are facing.

If your distance is shorter, adjust for how far inside the right
big toe your swing should be. Adjust outside the toe for a
longer putt. Get a feel for this and you will know how far to
take the putter back.

Again, it is a feeling. Accelerate through the ball and make
sure your follow through is longer than your backswing.
Concentrate on feeling the putter accelerate through the putt.

In summary; You are trying consciously to get a feel for the art
in your golf game. You will succeed. It just takes practice.

How To Export A Microsoft Access Report as a PDF

Filed under: Online Technology Resources — admin @ 8:05 pm

Microsoft Access is one of the most awesome prototyping tools anyone in software development could ever use, however there are also some really serious downsides as well. I know the software purists will be rolling over in their graves with my comments but after 20 plus years of commercial software development for some of the worlds largest companies I stand by my comments.

Microsoft Access makes it very easy and very cost effective to develop a database application and then roll it out onto the desktop. One of the downsides to this application is that it has always been incredibly difficult to export reports from Microsoft Access to another format. Most Microsoft Access developers that I know who build these systems use third party applications to export reports like Crystal Reports or Microsoft Word. The downside to using Microsoft Word is that you cannot export OLE Objects, using the merge process, you actually have to use VBA Code in Microsoft Word to call the ole object via ADO. Well that is one technique anyway. Now, with Adobe Acrobat Writer Version 7 we now have a new more effective method.

The exporting of OLE Objects has always been a major downside to Microsoft Access and Microsoft Word, but I was recently working with Adobe Acrobat writer Version 7 and I found that this version of the software now installs itself in all major Microsoft Office Applications. This is a fantastic step forward for Microsoft Access developers as this mean you can develop a report exclusively in Microsoft Access and then print the report straight to a PDF Format, rather than first going to Microsoft Word document then converting it into a Adobe Acrobat PDF File. The other key advantage is that if you are using a OLE Object Datatype in a Report, the Adobe PDF file will accept that data type and show a picture if that is what you are looking for. Alot of my clients have wanted to use Microsoft Access to develop reports that include photos and distribute them using Microsoft Word but up until now that has been able to be done easily. (Without using extensive VBA Code) Adobe Acrobat 7 allows us to create a pdf file from a report with OLE Objects and include them as photos etc within the PDF File. This means organisations that want to distribute staff files or product descriptions can create them using Microsoft Access. First of all they create the descriptions as a report and then convert them to PDF Format using Adobe Acrobat Writer.

Adobe has provided two ways to generate your PDF report. First off it installs an Adobe Drop Down Menu into the Microsoft Access main menu bar and from this drop down menu you can then choose to create the report as an ADOBE PDF. Note you must open the report first. You can even use this menu function to create the report and then email it direct to a third party. I think this feature alone is worth the $700AUD you pay for Adobe Acrobat Writer.

The second method is to open your report and then choose the File menu and then Print. The Print dialog box will open and then you choose Adobe Acrobat writer as the Printer and then choose the OK button which will then start Adobe Acrobat and generate your PDF.

With this new method to build a PDF file, you can even use Visual Basic for Access to automate the print process and then email the file using MAPI or CDO. If you are one of those people who like to use macro’s over using VBA there is no way that I can find where you can achieve this. If you could find someone who could create a module for you that automates this process you could use a macro then by calling the Function in the module from the macro window. All this of course is dependent on finding the write person to write that function. I have not done this directly, because I have been using a form with VBA Code to automate the creation of the PDF and then email it via CDO.

One of the questions I get asked a lot, especially by people from GLobal Organisations who need to write monthly reports,”Would it be possible to automate this process and have the reports email themselves once a month”. The answer to this is, ABSOLUTELY YES! The catch though is you would need to leave Microsoft Access open on a machine and then have a developer to write some code that acts like a timer and then once the computer clock ticks over the Form could simply create the associated reports and email them via MAPI. This seems complex all in all but for a competent VBA programmer, there should not be any problems doing this.

When Microsoft Office 2007 is released in 2007(hopefully), Microsoft has said that they will be including the functionality for producing PDF files from within Microsoft Office 2007, hopefully this functionality will be included for Microsoft Access 2007, which means in the next version, MACRO developers maybe able to export direct to PDF Format and then email direct to clients. If Microsoft does offer this in their new version, this to me would be the major reason I would recommend all companies upgrade to this new version. I wait in hope that this will be the case.

Flour Enrichment - What, When, Why

Filed under: Best Food — admin @ 7:53 pm

Two main goals in milling wheat flour are:

  1. Separating as much endosperm as possible from bran and germ in wheat berries

  2. Turning separating endosperm into fine flour

Unfortunately, this process also inadvertently removes many natural and valuable vitamins, minerals, dietary fibers.

Lacking these essential nutrients in daily diets makes people very susceptible to diseases such as beriberi and pellagra. Many birth defects are also linked to nutrient deficiency.

In response to this problem, the Food and Drug Administration began, in 1941, to encourage millers to enrich freshly milled or “green” flour with iron, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, and folic acid. The last four vitamins are also known as vitamin B. The recommended amount added to white flour should be equal to or exceed the amount in wheat flour.

Adding back some of the lost nutrients is only one form of flour enrichment. Natural aging is another. The purpose of aging freshly milled or “green” flour is to improve dough handling and ultimately quality of baked goods.

To many millers, this process is economically unfavorable and time consuming with inconsistent result. It depends on oxygen in air to perform two functions:

  1. Whitening flour by changing chemical structure of a flour pigment known as carotenoid

  2. Strengthening gluten forming proteins, glutenin and gliadin. This ultimately results in better volume and finer crumb in breads

Because natural aging does have its disadvantages, many millers instead like to add chemical or maturing additives such as potassium bromate or ascorbic acid to “green” flour.

Types of baked goods also determine, to some extent, a preferred additive for flour. Since bread baking requires strong flour, potassium bromate is added to flour used for this purpose.

On the other hand, cake flour does not need strong gluten formation, but its starch must be able to absorb moisture quickly. Therefore, chlorine is added to whiten flour and weaken gluten proteins.

Online Magazine Subscription Services Make Shopping Online Fun For Magazines

Filed under: Marketing Management — admin @ 4:06 pm

If recreating the old experience of subscribing to magazines by filling out a subscription card is essential to the success as an Internet retailer, then MagMall.com takes top awards. The retailer has created a web site with all the ease of use of the original pop out cards through fast loading graphics, and an intuitively designed layout that is both easy to follow and navigate.

“Visitors to the magazine subscription site get the feeling that subscribing online is just as easy as subscribing through the mail, but with added benefits,” says Fariman Dejouli, head of graphics design for Mountain Network Systems LLC. “It is a well laid out site for finding magazines and filling out subscription forms.”

A recent addition to their arsenal of web-based tools is the ability for shoppers to search for magazines by price range, first letter, category or even description. Shoppers can use their advanced searching feature to combine different search parameters. Of course, the fastest way to find magazines is to just type in a title in their search box or to click a fast category link in their fundamentally simple left navigation system.

The web site enhancements were developed in conjunction with Mountain-net.com, which offers one of the original ecommerce shopping cart platforms called Webcart. The inclusion of the new web site searching tools is part of a multi-pronged strategy by MagMall to cater to consumers who want to subscribe to all their magazines from one place.

“MagMall does a much better job than its competitors when it comes to evolving its web site,”, Dejouli says. “From a purely ecommerce transaction standpoint their site works extremely well.”

The Future of Online Poker

Filed under: Gamblers Lair — admin @ 3:07 pm

The future of online poker can be described in many different
ways. Looking directly from a player’s point of view, players
have many more choices now then say five years ago.

Today, a player can choose from many different online poker
rooms. Some of the big gusy are still around (Paradise Poker,
Party Poker, Poker Stars, etc.) and other smaller rooms are
gathering new players everyday. It seems the best way to get new
players is to have a huge sign up bonus and many freerolls. A
solid affiliate program is essential for the growth of a poker
room. Just ask Party Poker!

Today, a player has a vast amount of games to choose from. No
longer do you have to play limit Texas Holdem. Seven Card Stud,
Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo, Omaha, and Omaha Hi/Lo are just a few of
the games being offered today.

With the popularity of poker on television, poker rooms will
improve their tournament structure. Currently, Poker Stars is
known as the best tournament site strictly because of their
tournament structure. Players don’t have to worry about being
blinded out early in a tournament because all tournaments start
players with a significant amount of chips. This way, more skill
is involved rather then going all in on the 10th hand of a
tourney.

What will the future bring? It’s difficult to tell. While many
of the online poker rooms will be battling for customers, you
can expect the software to improve greatly. I’d guess to say the
poker room that comes out with the best software and is player
friendly will dominate the market for many years. It helps to
have a nice marketing budget as well.

Kids Activities - 10 Inspiring Ideas For A Rainy Day

Filed under: Lifestyle Parlor — admin @ 1:28 pm

There is nothing worse than a rainy day in the middle of the
school holidays, when children are cooped up inside, you have
nothing planned, and the inevitable cries of “I’m bored” are not
far away! Keep this list of rainy day activities ready for just
such a day. Older children may enjoy choosing from the list
themselves.

1. Sort through the toy cupboard:

It’s surprising how much fun this can be! Get everyone together
and aim to clear one shelf or drawer. You will probably find
that old treasures are rediscovered, odd pieces can be thrown
away, and some things will be ready to be passed down or sold.
If you are not sure whether to get rid of some of the toys, try
packing them away in a box and hiding them in a dark corner of
the cupboard for a few months. When they come out again they
will either cause a sensation, or not - which will make it easy
to decide on their fate!

2. Record the sounds around you:

Get out the tape recorder and make a project out of recording
everyday sounds. Try water running in the bath, someone ringing
the bell and opening the door, or flushing the toilet! It
certainly makes you think about things a little differently than
usual. Suggest that some friends or neighbours do the same thing
and then get together to see if you can identify each other’s
sounds!

3. Make a story tape:

Grab that tape recorder and a blank cassette, find a story you
enjoy, and make your own story tape! Each child can read for a
while, or can take on the part of a particular character. Make
the appropriate noises too! You will probably have to practice a
few times to get the hang of it, and be prepared for lots and
lots of giggles! Tip: a homemade story tape makes a great
present for a child who has to go to hospital or is bedridden
for a time.

4. Have a jigsaw afternoon:

Get out all your jigsaws and invite some friends around with
theirs too! Clear plenty of space and have a marathon jigsaw
session. Some libraries have jigsaws you can borrow too, and you
can often find jigsaws for sale very cheaply at charity shops
(thrift stores) and car boot sales (garage sales). Tip: if you
buy your jigsaws second-hand and the box has seen better days,
cut out the picture and store it in a re-sealable bag with all
the pieces.

5. Have a mammoth junk modelling session with friends:

Invite a few families around and ask them to bring their
craft-cupboard junk with them - boxes, containers, and other
bits and pieces. You provide glue, sticky-tape, scissors, and
encouragement. You could make houses, or creatures, or boats, or
modern art - or you could all combine together to make one giant
model!

6. Make a card house:

If you don’t know any good card games or haven’t anyone to play
with, try building a card house! Start by balancing two cards
against each other so that they stand up in an inverted V-shape.
Take it from there!

7. Make an indoor obstacle course:

Check with an adult that this is OK first! Use easily movable
furniture (kitchen chairs, coffee tables) to mark out a course.
Create a tunnel to crawl through with a blanket draped over low
tables, or space cushions around the room to use as
stepping-stones. You will have lots more ideas!

8. Practice balancing:

Balancing is fun! Try walking the length of the room with a book
on your head. When you can do that, try balancing two or three -
then add a cuddly toy to the very top!

9. Create an indoor den:

A few blankets and tablecloths can create the most wonderful
indoor den. Drape blankets between sofas and chairs, over
stepladders and clothes-dryers, or tie the ends to cupboard
knobs and door handles. Once the den is created find some
special snacks, coloring pages and pencils, a CD player and
music, a torch or two, and camp out for a while!

10. Play with string:

Older children can create some wonderful inventions with a ball
of string and their imagination! A toilet roll and a sloping
length of string make a great message chute or rocket. Get some
action toys involved too: try making them a lift (elevator) out
of a box or a basket and hoist them up! Adults should supervise
constantly if there are younger kids around.

The Great Britain Top Marital Aid Survey for Girls to Use

Filed under: Shopping — admin @ 6:51 am

So sex toy are on the lips of every chick these days, either chatting about them in the chat rooms, at the art gallery or on the telly. But which sex toy is the greatest, with the excellent choice to select from surely a business had to find out the best one.

A new adult toy site asked over one hundred and fifty chicks in October what their favourite sex toy was along with other personal questions.

If you love sex toys you should try out Glass Dildos

It was discovered that the most favourite sex toy for chicks was the vibrator, and they just really liked it! Women were so excited by the idea of a huge vibrator that many of them would use it straight after coming home from work. The best models of vibrator were the Jessica rabbit vibrators as they help to stimulate the clit as well as inserting into the flower.

The second most popular sex toy was the exciting dildo dong. Dongs are similar to vibrators except they do not have batteries or vibrate. Dongs come in all shapes and sizes from four inches to twelve inches. They can come with sucker cups to have a brill experience hands free and can easily attach to a bath or toilet set. Dongs have been a firm top seller since the 90s and looks like they will be around for a long time.

So it was decided that the vibrator was the winner and the dildo came in second place, with some many sex toys out there it was difficult to know which type of vibrator was the most exciting for women to try. The standard vibrators are battery powered and shaped like a male’s penis. Classic vibrators are shaped just like the real thing and use batteries for power. Classic vibrators can be manufactured of plastic, vinyl metal or silicone. Classic vibrators can either be popped in or placed against your vagina to get the sexual feeling. Sex bomb store a wide range of standard vibrators.

The greatest way to use standard vibrators is to make sure it is nice and fresh before use, make sure it is not too large for your vagina, and also make sure that you do not use it every Wedbesday night and you do venture out on a date to the circus.

Mexico

Filed under: Universe Of Travel — admin @ 1:30 am

Mexico is popular with travelers from all over the world. The
visitors of Mexico go there for many reasons: sunshine, blue
seas swarming with fish and coral, crystal-white beaches,
mountains and volcanoes, jungles full of striking wildlife,
collectible folk art and the wonderful remains of ancient
cultures.

Mexico is known for its tourist destinations. Its fantastic
location and year-round mild climate, gorgeous white beaches are
ideal for water sports. The site of the Caribbean Ocean makes
this place a desired vacationing spot for all.

History of Mexico

Mexico has reminders of its past in just about every city you
visit, due to Mexico’s vast history. Sometime during the last
ice age nomadic tribes of hunter-gatherers from Asia first
crossed the Bering Strait and entered the Western Hemisphere.
The various civilizations of Mesoamerica are distinguished from
others elsewhere in the New World by a variety of common
cultural developments including hieroglyphic writing, commerce
and trade, an extensive knowledge of astronomy, a highly
accurate calendar system, and fascinating religious beliefs
featuring a complex pantheon, a ritualistic ball game, and human
and animal sacrifices.

Cities of Mexico

Cancun has a first rate tourist road and rail network. The most
famous hotel chains in the world have combined luxury and
comfort with hospitality. Cancun has fascinating Mayan remains,
as well as a museum displaying pieces from this culture. It’s
excellent overland and air links will whisk you to some of the
most impressive places in the Mayan World in both Quintana Roo
and neighboring state of Yucatan.

Cabo San Lucas at the southernmost tip of Baja, was once a base
for pirate ships waiting to pounce on Spanish treasure ships. It
has quickly become the main point of Los Cabos: million-dollar
condos have sprung up, palm trees have been transplanted, golf
courses have been laid, water has been piped in from San José
and everywhere is kept immaculate.

The island of Cozumel Mexico has shops with a nice selection of
goods including fine jewelry stores. There are so many great
reasons to visit Cozumel that once you visit once, you might
just get hooked. Compared to other tropical vacation spots,
Cozumel is very inexpensive. The unusually short 2-hour flight
from Houston, Miami, or Dallas/Fort Worth means you can be lying
on a lounge chair sipping a beverage by noon!

Puerto Vallarta is smaller, quieter and younger than Acapulco.
In its own way, it is actually every bit as commercial - perhaps
more so, since here tourism is virtually the only source of
income - but appearances count for much, and Puerto Vallarta,
while doing all it can to catch up with Acapulco, appears far
less developed and retains a more Mexican feel.

Christmas in Mexico

Christmas for Mexicans, in traditional homes and rural areas, is
a religious holiday. It is a celebration of the Nativity. The
first thing to know about celebrating Christmas in Mexico is
that most everybody takes off the last two weeks in December to
spend more time with the family, visit with old friends, even
make new friends.

Personal Finance - Have Consumers Had a Belly Full of Personal Debt?

Filed under: Finance Web — admin @ 11:39 pm

For months, we were trigger-swipe happy, putting our groceries, clothes, holidays and service charges on our credit cards. We wanted mortgages, we took out loans, we watched Property Ladder and What Not To Wear. Whether you were born middle class, had middle class aspirations, you became middle class through your spending. Debt united people around the UK, we sympathised with each other on what we couldn’t afford - but it didn’t matter, we still bought it. Soon everybody had a bottle of Jacob’s Creek in their kitchen and olives and humous in the fridge.

Yet, it would seem as if a debt conscience is setting in. This morning, The Guardian printed a story based on the fact that Nationwide had reported a 0.2% decrease in the average house price, whilst the Times reported on a statement from the Bank of England, showing that credit-card borrowing was at its slowest rate for more than four years, with mortgage lending also very static.

According to the latest Department of Trade and Industry Survey, 5% of individuals reported finding their household’s debt repayments a “heavy burden” and 4% of individuals are currently behind in payments for at least one credit commitment or domestic bill over the past three months.

According to Credit Action, in December 2004, 1.2 million electricity and 1 million gas domestic customers were behind in repaying their debts to their supplier. Additionally 20% of people say that they often neglect checking their bank balance because “they are too scared to find out how much money they have”, according to Lloyds TSB.

Credit Action also reported that the number of people searching for help to manage their debts had almost doubled in May in 2005, compared to figures in May 2004 and a survey from Relate revealed that 44% of couples find money to be a contentious issue in their relationship and a quarter of people in debt are receiving treatment for stress, depression and anxiety from their GP.

It doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom however. If you’re lucky enough to have no outstanding debt, you can keep you finances in shape by exploiting the services of sites such as moneynet, which provide financial product price comparison information and extensive consumer information guides. If you have any outstanding debts, you can seek advice from the Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) or Citizens’ Advice and financial comparison sites like lowermybills and moneynet also provide detailed research on debt consolidation loans and debt management.
