A Shoppers Guide To Buying The Best Pushchairs & Prams

Filed under: Lifestyle Parlor — admin @ 8:00 pm

When you are searching for pushchairs & prams, it is crucial to remember both your infant’s requirements & your very own specific way of life. Pushchairs at the present time are for sale in lots of different styles and price costs, & therefore without looking at the various choices prior to you go shopping; the selections can very easily become uncontrollable. Find a range of baby and child products including; puschairs, babywear and cotbeds from leading brands online.

First, you should analyse your baby’s exact requirements. For a newborn toddler, you possibly will want a pushchair with a lie-back facility or a pushchair/carrycot combination. If you like you can perhaps buy a product that comes with a reversible seat, which lets your baby to look at you whilst you’re pushing. You are also advised to take into account where your toddler will usually sleep: whether it is a crib, carrycot, or Moses basket. If you are going to purchase a carrycot, then you might also want to get a pushchair/carrycot combination as this will help to diminish the amount of additional equipment you have to purchase.

Next, you should examine your specific way of life. If you intend taking the pushchair in a vehicle, asses the size of the boot to make certain that the collapsed pushchair/pram will fit correctly. If you get one that is too big, you will be spending many annoying minutes each day fighting to fit it in the available space. Also, you may well look at a multi-function item, which combines a toddler car seat and pushchair. This multi-function ability will indeed make it significantly easy for those responsible to transport your baby in the car, then use the pushchair when you are parked, therefore lowering the number of accessory products you have to tow around with your baby.

For mothers who walk significantly, it is vital that you buy a durable product that has lockable wheels. Also think about the type of land you will be pushing your kid over. If you pick and choose swivel wheels, then the pushchair will be drastically easier to control in tight circles, whereas fixed wheels will travel much easier over uneven ground. You can even buy a pushchair that includes both fixed wheel and swivel wheel options, letting you adjust the wheels when required throughout your journeys. In spite of what preference you opt for make certain that the handle is at the right height. If you & your partner have quite different heights, try to get a pushchair with a changeable handle.

Surviving Divorce: What To Think About To Ensure Surviving Divorce

Filed under: Relationships & More — admin @ 12:48 am

Surviving divorce can be a valid fear if you’re contemplating getting a divorce. In order to ensure surviving divorce, you should first understand that your divorce decision shouldn’t be taken lightly. Ensuring that you’ll be surviving divorce can be comforting and can influence your path as you consider your reasons for divorce and take the emotional plunge into actually going through with it.

Its tough enough to think about how your immediate life will be impacted by getting a divorce let alone thinking about divorce from an aspect of “the aftermath” of divorce. You may be considering a variety of things in the short term including living arrangements, spouse’s schedules, attorneys, kids, property, etc. Its tough to plan so you can really ensure that you’ll be surviving divorce once its finally over with.

Surviving divorce, just like deciding to divorce, is about separating emotion from logic and making sure you think about the past, present and future. Of course, how you plan for surviving divorce, will differ from others in some respects, but there are some common themes to think about that should ensure you will be successful surviving divorce.

The most common things to think about when you want to be successful surviving divorce are self-evident and basic, but highly important:

Surviving Divorce Concept 1: Reflect on the past to make sure you can eliminate potential regret.

Make sure that you take the time to reflect on the past and remember the reasons that got you to this state of mind. One thing you absolutely must avoid is going through a divorce and regretting your decision. Evaluate, in detail, your reasons for divorce and confirm to yourself yet again that divorce is the best course of action. This will help eliminate regret…and regret can be a large factor in determining your chance of surviving divorce.

Surviving Divorce Concept 2: Admit to yourself that, no matter how your situation got to this breaking point of wanting divorce, that you had a hand in it, and plan to improve yourself.

Even if you know your present spouse is not a good fit for you, be smart enough to know that you shouldn’t waste the opportunity that you have right now to improve yourself, for your own good in the future. At a time like this when emotions are running high, there tends to be a lot of soul searching going on, and that’s a good thing if you want to ensure that you’ve got a solid chance of surviving divorce. Realize that you need to improve for you, this will only help you in the future. Remember, it takes two to tango!

Surviving Divorce Concept 3: Remember that your happiness and plan for surviving divorce should include evaluating and establishing a certain level of self-confidence.
Having self confidence is absolutely critical to surviving divorce because without it, fear usually will win out and your situation will not improve. Even if you get divorced but you don’t evaluate your own level of self confidence in the hopes of improving it, you may be in for a rough time after divorce. If you want a sure-fire way to feel good about surviving divorce, do yourself a favor and get your self-confidence in line.

If your overall confidence and desire to start over with your love life support making a change, you’re off to a good start in making a smart decision about whether to divorce or not.

Surviving Divorce Concept 4: Get your finances in a row and understand that your life will change most likely from a monetary perspective.

This is a major portion of the surviving divorce equation, especially for women in divorce. A lot of time, women in divorce situations have to deal with finance issues and they fear going out on their own because they’ve had financial support previously. Still, this concept is not gender specific and can resonate with anyone because, one some level, your life will change financially as a result of divorce…that’s a guarantee. In order to make sure your chance at surviving divorce is high, you need to be willing to trade potential financial loss to get a divorce. If you’re willing to do this, maybe you’re ready to really take the big step.

Surviving Divorce Concept 5: Understand the true value of using “projection” to ensure surviving divorce.

This is a terrific exercise to go through when you’re faced with a divorce decision and want to ensure you’ve got a great chance of surviving divorce. “Projection” simply means looking to the future and actually imagining what your life will be like once you’re divorced. And, if you’re smart, you’ll see multiple scenarios of what your life will become after divorce and you’ll be able to pin down which factors lead to each one of those scenarios. Then, choose the scenario you’d like to actually live, and take the necessary steps needed to implement those factors. This one of the most important practices to ensure that you’re chances of surviving divorce are high.

Surviving divorce is a difficult thing but it can easily be accomplished if you plan, reflect, think, and execute based on your own goals and needs.

How to ‘Download’ Your Old Computer to the Highest Bidder

Filed under: Hardware & More — admin @ 5:57 pm

When you think trash, you surely don’t think about your old, trusty personal computer. But that’s exactly what will become of it when you make the inevitable move toward your next laptop or desktop. And, yes, buying a new computer is inevitable, considering the pace at which computer technology zips along. Just thinkabout a handful of years ago, a fast microprocessor for a laptop was at 233 MHz. Now you’re looking at about at least 2 GHz! That’s Giga, with a G.

So eventually, you will want a computer that can handle the latest software, the latest games, and the latest interactive Web sites, and then you’ll have to throw away your old computer, right? Wrong. Try selling your used computer instead. Throwing out your computer is one of the worst things you can do. For one, your computer may be useful for someone out there, even if just for scraps.

Trashed computers and other digital equipment also make up one of the fastest growing, and most dangerous, new trash “categories” out there in your neighborhood landfall. On one hand, computers are generally bulky and made of plastic and other materials that won’t be breaking down in a landfill for the next few million years. What’s more, other materials in your old computer are highly toxic to the environment, like mercury, lead and cadmium. They’re so toxic that their actually name in the waste-management field is “toxics.”

You don’t have to be a techie or a scientist to understand the danger in thatnor the benefits of selling your computer. On the Internet, there are a vast number of auction and classifieds sites, some better than others, where you can “download” you computer to a worthy buyer.

Before you boot up your replacement laptop or high-performance PC, however, be sure you read and compute the following tips. These tips will help you avoid the crashes and shutdowns that befall the computer seller who doesn’t do his homework first.

Hold onto all of the operating system and software manuals that came with your old computer. This will add value to your sale, not to mention it will make you a trusted seller for offering up these helpful books to the buyer.

Erase all personal information from the hard drive. And we’re not just talking about simply putting stuff in the “trash bin.” It’s extremely important to purge all data from your computer’s memory repository, even from invisible backup files on the hard drive. If you’re not sure how to do this, ask your IT expert at work or a techie friend for advice. You don’t want the next user to have access to your bank accounts, old e-mails, and other private info, do you?

Uninstall any application from the hard drive that you’d like to use on your next computer, keeping the installation disk and the software serial number for yourself. When it comes to software, the manufacturers made sure that you never really own software, you license it. So you don’t get free reign to keep software on multiple computers. You only get one license, so you need to bring your licensed version with you to your new computer.

Do your homework on your computer’s worth. Just like you would for a car, check around at other classifieds and auction sites to see what other people are selling your make and model for.

Be sure you want to truly get rid of old faithful. You may be able to repair your old laptop rather than buy a new $2,000 Centrino model. Or you may be able to add RAM memory and a new hard drive to your four-year-old desktop rather than invest in a new $3,000 multimedia masterpiece. In other words, do a thorough cost-analysis of what it would take to rebuild your old computer, versus what it would cost to sell it and buy a new one. And check your heart too. You might be surprised just how attached you are to your old faithful.

Once you go through these steps, you are prepared to make your move and sell, sell, sell. And then, of course, you’ll be ready to start on a whole new list of stepsfor buying a new computer. But that’s a topic for another article!

Live Webcasts of Carnival

Filed under: Web Of Cams — admin @ 1:56 pm

This week some Independent Senators complained that their Parliamentary Committees were left out of Government’s plan to broadcast live sittings. Government allocated some $10 million to this end. Now, how do you spend $10 million on live broadcasts? I don’t know. What I do know is that it would be a lot more affordable to webcast the sittings of Parliament and you wouldn’t have to exclude anyone. In fact the whole thing could be controlled remotely.

Set up the cameras, the webhosting, design the website and you’re live for 1 billion Internet users around the world, not just 1.6 million who live here. How would you fund it? Well, I can’t see it costing anywhere near $1 million, but let’s just say it does. There are at least two ways you can fund it.

First, it would be difficult to think that after the government justified a budget of $10 million to broadcast the sittings of Parliament only, the same government would turn around and say it will cost nothing additional to broadcast the sittings of the Parliamentary Committees too. So Government is likely to be willing to spend some more. The second method is a lot simpler: sell ads. It shouldn’t be too difficult to find a couple of companies with deep pockets that want to get on the good side of Parliamentarians by making them familiar faces on the World Wide Web. Who knows, Trinidad & Tobago might end up being the first Parliament ever to webcast everything. Yea for transparency!

Now, on to Carnival. As some of you may have read in past Internet Opportunities, Breaking News sells “Live Help” software that allows website owners to monitor traffic on their websites in real time. This is a lot more than just stats. “Live Help” software actually allows you to know when someone is on your site, from whence they came and what they’re looking for. You don’t get to see who the person is but you do see an I.P. address moving around.

Over the Carnival weekend, I made an amazing discovery. People were searching for “Carnival Webcam.” Now, here comes the freebie. We did a search and “CarnivalWebcam.com” and “CarnivalWebcast.com” are available for registration. Go to the International Internet Authority and see for yourself. So next year, if you’re a Carnival person (because I’m not), you might want to register these names and set up a website webcasting Carnival live. There are a lot of people overseas thirsty to see the action, the market of homesick Trinbagonians who can’t tell their bosses, “Doh ask meh to wuk for Carnaval!”

What is Blu-Ray DVD

Filed under: Hardware & More — admin @ 10:29 am

Video technology has increased significantly over the past years, and is continuing to grow at an incredible rate. Digital Video Disc’s aka DVD’s are the most likely the last big jump in consumer video technology that everyone is familiar with. To keep up with the ever advancing world of electronics a new format of video storage will be released soon called Blu-ray.

Blu-Ray is a next generation optical disc that will blow the socks off of what we all know today: DVD. Conventional DVD’s use a red laser that have long wave lengths, which limits the storage capacity on a disc. Blu-Ray uses a blue laser which has much shorter wave lengths. Because the wave lengths on the Blu-Ray are much smaller it can focus on a spot with much greater precision, allowing for data to be packed much more tightly than the red laser DVD’s.

Blu-Ray discs can hold up to 50GB’s of information which 10 times that of a 4.5GB DVD. 10 times the storage will greatly increase the amount of information that we can save on any one disc and will change the way we save information. Dual Layer Blu-Ray discs will be able to hold up to 4 hours of High-Definition Video. High Definition video is going to hit big here, Blu-Ray is an example of a technology that is going to make it happen. 50GB is probably comparable to size of many of our hard-drives, and to picture having all of that information on a small disc that we can slide into a pocket and take wherever we want is a bit scary.

Expect to see Blu-Ray replacing DVD and VCR over the next few years, following along with the transition of video to High Definition Video. Video isn’t the only thing that will benefit from Blu-Ray technology; I would expect that it will also become the standard for PC and other types of storage.
