Tips For Starting A Wedding Planning Blog

Filed under: Blogerati — admin @ 1:38 pm

Anyone who has been on the internet lately understands that blogs are the next big thing.

From politics and pop culture to the latest fashions and celebrity news, there are blogs covering just about every subject imaginable. One of the most unique, and most useful, of these blogs is the wedding planning blog.

==Creating A Real Sense Of Community Among The Users==

A wedding planning blog is just what the name implies. It is a place for those planning weddings to gather to share information, swap stories and just generally have a good time.

From serious subjects like avoiding wedding scams, to frivolous pursuits like swapping pictures of the most hideous bridesmaid dresses, wedding planning blogs can create a real sense of community among their users.

==Places To Find A Wedding Planning Blog==

There are many places to find a wedding planning blog, and many ways to create your own.

Simply typing wedding planning blog into any search engine will give you plenty of places to start, and there are any number of excellent blog sites on the internet where you can set up your own way to talk about wedding planning and all that entails.

Some blog sites are free, while others charge a monthly or yearly fee for their services. The type of blog you choose will depend on the features and benefits you need.

==You Will Generally Need To Sign Up To Post==

Once you have found the blog or blogs you want, you will generally need to sign up in order to post.

Most blog sites need only a minimum of information, such as your name and your email address, so signing up should not be too much of a burden. Once you are signed up and approved, you will be ready to go, free to ask questions, swap stories and pictures, or just enjoy planning your wedding.

== Wedding Planning Blogs Are Becoming Increasing Popular==

Even though it is an exciting time, planning a wedding can be a difficult thing to do. There are so many things that must be taken care of, from the wedding cake to the wedding dress, from the perfect wedding rings to the perfect rehearsal dinner.

Having a place you can go to commiserate with others who are in the same situation can be a big help, and that is why wedding planning blogs are becoming increasingly popular.

How To Find The Right Blogging Platform For Your Needs

Filed under: Blogerati — admin @ 7:25 am

Choosing which blogging platform to use is one of the most important decisions that you can make as a blogger. The right platform can make blogging a breeze, and the wrong platform can make blogging a chore. Because the program that you use to blog with is such a powerful part of your blogging experience, it is well worth putting in the time to find a platform that provides your ideal balance between a user-friendly interface and a flexible framework that allows you to make your blog look and feel unique. Finding the right platform isn’t always easy, but with a little bit of contemplation and a little bit of research, you will be on your way to finding the perfect blogging platform.

Deciding what your priorities are in terms of ease of use versus customization. Most highly customizable blogging platforms, like moveable type, are a bit more difficult to use than very automated platforms like wordpress. If you are new to blogs and to internet technology, you might want to sacrifice the ability to create a custom background design or to integrate a unique font into your template in order to find a program that will be easy for you to use. On the other hand, if you are a veteran web designer with knowledge of html or javascript, you will probably find the limitations of a user-friendly platform to be frustrating.

There is no such thing as a blogging platform that is objectively the best platform, because every blogger has unique needs. The blogging movement is very much about individuality, so it makes plenty of sense that there would be many different platforms available that are designed to meet the needs of different kinds of individuals undertaking different kinds of projects. This diversity is a good thing, because it means that you will almost certainly be able to find a program that suits your level of technical aptitude.

However, the fact that no two bloggers need the same thing from a blogging platform can make your search for the right platform a bit tricky. When you are reading reviews of different platforms, try to keep your priorities in mind and do your best to take into account the position that the reviewer is coming from. For example, a negative review written by an accomplished software designer who complains that a popular platform is too limited may tell you that the platform in question is ideal for a beginning blogger. There is no such thing as the perfect platform for everybody, so instead of looking for the “best” platform, look for the best platform for your specific criteria.

Keeping your Blog Supplied with Fresh Posts

Filed under: Blogerati — admin @ 1:26 am

Having started a few blogs and ended them soon after, I am living proof that it is easy to start a blog, but hard to maintain it once the charm is gone. Posting to one or more blogs soon becomes a chore instead of a joy. The blog’s author loses interest and his or her blog literally dies on the vine.

This doesn’t have to happen!

Here are ways to keep that love for your blog or blogs alive:

- Jot down possible topics for the next day’s post or posts. You’ll save time while maintaining your blog and “refresh” your enthusiasm for it at the same time.

- Try to keep a given post focused. That is, don’t begin by saying one thing and later rambling off topic with a few unrelated statements. Those statements will make the post look incoherent and confuse its readers.

- Read as widely as possible. Take a peek at some of the news magazines and try to figure out a connection between your blog’s subject and latest news and developments. Also, consider broadening that range to include websites and journals specific to your field or interest.

- See your blog from your audience’s perspective. What does your blog’s title suggest or imply to that audience and why? Is there a possibility that the audience may misinterpret the title? Also, what’s in the blog for your audience, such as new insights and information? Answers to these questions may yield one or more interesting posts!

- Go back to the original reason or reasons why you started this blog. Did you intend to solve problems? Give your audience a reason to laugh or cry? Give your audience a unique “take” on some aspect of a different subject?

- Consider adding stuff to enhance your blog, such as counters, surveys, drawings, photos, games. You’ll not only more likely to attract and keep an audience, but become more enthused about it yourself.

- Read other blogs for ideas and inspiration. Remember that these blogs need not be related to yours. Sometimes establishing a connection between that blog’s ideas and your own leads to interesting posts.

- Promise your readers a tidbit of information in one day’s post and give it to them in the next day’s post.

- Make posting to your blog a habit, a part of your daily routine. Doing so at first is the hard part, but something that becomes easier as you continue posting daily, weekly and monthly.

Here’s to your successful and profitable blog or blogs!

Or is it just me?

Filed under: Blogerati — admin @ 8:59 pm

IS IT JUST ME?

Here I am sitting in a tin can, far above the world………..No
hang on, that’s David Bowie. Blimey I’m easily distracted!!

What I meant to say was…

Here I am sitting in front of my PC desperately wanting to get
into the habit of writing (is it still called writing,
no…idiot, it’s typing. See, distracted again).

Here I am yadda yadda yadda…wanting to get into the habit of
TYPING (actually RECORDING is probably a better way to describe
it) Sighhhhh

Here I am yadda etc wanting to RECORD anything that pops into my
head. The trouble is trying to stay focused and trying to have
it make sense. Failed already then!

I have been pestered by a friend of mine, hello Pete, to start
writing. Pete has written lots. Pete is an accomplished
guitarist (although come to think of it I’ve never actually
heard him play!! But I trust him, so we’ll go with that) He has
also written a screen play. I have seen the actual script. Lots
of words. So I can definitely confirm this as being true. He has
also written articles on music, written several guitar tutorial
books (Burt Weedon will be pooing himself at the competition.
Well he would if he was alive). In fact you can see this for
yourself on his website. Unfortunately I’m not allowed to give
the website address here. But I can assure you it exists.
Anyway, as I was saying Pete has been pestering me to have a go
at writing. As you can see already from this attempt, Pete must
be an IDIOT!!

Also, another friend of mine, hello Roy, is actively being
creative with a website of his own. When he isn’t at work he
spends hours sitting at home in front of his PC in his undies
and socks (allegedly), updating data on football scores (that’s
soccer to you yanks out there) and predicting the coming weekend
results, inviting others to do the same. Roy is our Techno Guru.
If we want to know about anything, even none techno, Roy gets us
the answer. Even to things like the lyrics to the Finger of
Fudge advert. (not sure if you have a Finger of Fudge in
America. It’s not a sexually transmitted disease. It’s a
chocolate bar). Although I must admit I am not convinced he got
the correct lyrics. But nobody said he was perfect.

So here I am, a middle aged, fuzzy brained, just ever so
slightly heavier than I should be bloke sitting between (at
work. I know I know, I shouldn’t be doing this at work but hey,
I’m too lazy to do it at home) two creative guys. I feel that I
should have a go at being creative myself. How am I doing so
far? Don’t answer that, I have feelings you know.

I must admit that the idea of having a good old rant about
pretty much everything, and possibly somebody out there in the
big WWW might think in a similar way and get back to me appeals
to my curious side. But I’m not one for being too serious,
although my Kids (kids, hah, they are all parasitic adults. No,
that’s not true. They’ve passed that stage. Now they’re onto the
“Oh my God when are they going to leave and give me back my
life” stage) would probably disagree.

I want to put my thoughts out there and see what comes back. As
you have probably guessed by now, I tend to write as I think.
Cluttered eh? But I really do want to know if my little world is
actually just a small world in a much bigger, yet linked in
every way, universe of similarity on a global scale (Ooops, way
too many mixed metaphors). Is there another just like me in say
the USA, Russia, China or even in little old UK? Soon I will be
unleashing my mixed up ranting on an unprepared, and probably
disinterested, world.

Is there anyone out there at all interested in my ranting?

Or IS IT JUST ME?

Article Writing is a Winning Strategy when Combined with Blogging (Part One)

Filed under: Blogerati — admin @ 4:28 pm

I am sure what I am about to tell you is common knowledge amongst seasoned Internet Marketers and Business Web Site Owners but it takes a lot of hard graft and several years of trial and error to get any business running profitably. During this start – up phase there will be many sleepless nights and not much in the way of free time. However the exponential growth of the Internet has turned traditional Marketing on its head and provided unheard of opportunities for those who have little start up capital. One of the ways in which your message can reach a wide audience with breakneck speed is the ability to craft informative Articles covering your particular subject and areas of expertise and get them circulating.

A lot has been written about the importance of getting your articles published and circulating widely, in building confidence amongst your readers and subscribers and web site visitors. Establishing your reputation as a trusted expert in your particular field can be built over time with a constant stream of articles and dramatically enhanced when your work is published elsewhere on the Internet, beyond the boundaries of your own web site. Let’s have a brief look at how you would go about this and what sort of results you could reasonably expect.

With the flavour of the Month now firmly resting with the mighty army of Bloggers, it is worth a quick look at how this could impact on your Article writing career. Blogs have taken the Internet by storm because of the ease with which the every day aspiring writer and marketer can now, without any cost whatsoever, set up a Web-Log in half an hour or less! I suppose the most popular Blogging Host is Blogger.Com and provides a reasonable platform to get started. Many Web Hosting companies are providing alternative blogging software with the more traditionally named WordPress.

It is well worth trying out both these software programmes and seeing which suits you better. My own preference is for WordPress but I am using both for several blogs. The Wordpress dashboard is perhaps a little more intimidating initially but it has a lot of features that Blogger does not.

In a nutshell, a blog enables the average person to be published instantly and if you are prepared to take the time to learn the tips and tricks you will soon be posting regularly and will then have the impetus to go a couple of clicks up the ladder to composing fully fledged Articles which will stand along side the best out there. This was my chosen route during the last year and the transition from wondering would it work to getting going, was the most difficult. Having heard about blogs and articles for quite a while during web research it still took the compelling words of a master marketer to light the fire.

It is not too difficult to keep that fire burning once you see some results, however small they may be initially. In my own case the first and very amateurish blog far outperformed the Web site with links in just two months. The Web site had been going for five years, admittedly with not a huge sum spent on its development, but nevertheless it showed what can be achieved with regular posts or mini articles in a very short time. Around this time the first articles were published including one that had sat on my hard drive for a year and it is the combination of these two separate strategies that works so well.

The key I was told in the beginning was to post every day if possible and at least three times a week for the first six months, before expecting any results! The results far outweighed the meagre expectations and continue to grow daily. I am not going to tell tales of unimaginable riches at this point since it is very early days but I do believe that the combination of Blogging and Article circulation can make a huge difference to any web presence, given plenty of action and hard work with the pen. Of course this is only one of the many avenues in making a viable business online or offline for that matter.

In part two we will dissect the various strategies that should be employed to make this work smoothly and hopefully persuade those of you out there who are still sitting on the fence to take some action… no correction! Massive Action. Want to know who the Massive Action Master is? You will have to look a little further to the authors’ resource box thingy below and then do some Detective Work. It would be worth your while since one good idea can sometimes change your life!

Why Your Marketing Plan Should Include A Blog

Filed under: Blogerati — admin @ 7:34 am

Blogging is a great way for a business to effectively market
their product or service without spending a lot of money. There
are many benefits of business blogging. Businesses that keep up
with a blog can introduce their products or services to
consumers and can better communicate their customers. In
addition, businesses that blog can understand what their
customers want and serve them better.

A blog, sometimes called Weblog, is defined as a web page that
serves as a journal or diary for individuals. Most blog writers
update their blog on a regular basis and writers often share
what most interests them. Individuals are not the only ones that
have found blogging beneficial. Businesses have learned that
this new way to communicate is a good marketing tool for their
products and services.

Every company should consider have a regular blog for their
businesses. Larger businesses may opt to hire a several special
writers with certain areas of expertise to update their blog. A
smaller company may have one writer that can effectively write
about their product. The idea of blogging for any size business
is to get the word out to readers. A reader who frequents a
certain blog is more likely to share the blog with others. Also,
blogging is a great marketing tool because it allows consumers
to be better informed.

When a business chooses to blog, it allows them to introduce
their product or service to consumers. Keywords and search
engines help consumers quickly find the blog they are looking
for with ease. For example, if a company specializes in making
handmade jewelry and keeps a blog that is on a search engine,
then that search engine would list their blog on a search.
Blogging allows customers to research the product they are
looking for with ease.

Companies that keep a regular can also use their blog to
communicate with their readers and customers. There are many
features that a blog site can offer that will allow a reader to
enter comments and contact the writer. Companies that encourage
their readers to leave comments can take the comments and
improve their services and products. In addition, companies can
email their customers back and let them know that they are
interested in what they have to say. In addition, a company that
uses blogging to market their service or product should always
rely on an experienced writer to update the blog. Business blogs
should be polished and easy to read.

Another good reason why businesses and companies should include
a blog in their marketing plan is because a blog provides a
unique way to understand what customers want. Companies that are
in tuned with their customer’s needs and wishes can better serve
them. Keeping an updated blog will initiate more customer
communication that can help a company know right away how to
improve. Blogs provide good public relations and are generally
much cheaper to maintain than a regular web site. Also, a
business that keeps a blog can reach out to other complimenting
companies and link those blog sites together. This will help
build readership and customers.

When setting up a blog for business purposes it is important to
look for a blog-hosting site that can offer the right kind of
features. Most businesses will use a site that can offer them
more search engines and options to add links and URLs on their
page. Free blog sites may not have the capabilities to offer as
many features as the ones that charge a monthly fee. The search
engine option is very important for a company that keeps a blog.
This will ensure that readers can easily locate the company’s
blog page. Also, a company setting up a blog should always keep
the links and contact information within the blog current. A
customer will not want to continue using a blog page that is
full of broken links or outdated contact information. If a
company relies on their customers to read the blog, then those
customers will always rely on the company to make their blog
experience a positive one.

Blogging can be a great marketing tool for any size business. It
is important for businesses to realize that blogs are not a
passing fad, but a unique way to interact with customers and
gain recognition in a particular field.

What the heck is a blog and why do I need one?

Filed under: Blogerati — admin @ 1:56 am

Recently I sent an email to my father telling him I had posted
some pictures on my personal “blog”. This was his response:

Hey Kid,

I was just sitting here musing as to what the heck a blog is. It
sounds like it could be terminal - as in “Well Mr. Huber, we’ve
verified that your daughter has a confirmed case of the South
African BLOG and as yet there is no cure”.

Please enlighten me as to the nature of this condition. I’ll
work on a cure.

Love,

Dad

After laughing for about 20 minutes straight I decided to look
up what the definition of blog was so that I could reassure my
Dad that I was not terminally ill. Here’s what I found:

Blog: An online diary; a personal chronological log of
thoughts published on a Web page; also called Weblog, Web log.
(courtesy http://www.dictionary.com) A web-based publication of
periodic articles (posts), usually presented in reverse
chronological order. It is an online journal with one or many
contributors. (courtesy http://www.wikipedia.org/)

Weblog: a personal Web site that provides updated
headlines and news articles of other sites that are of interest
to the user, also may include journal entries, commentaries and
recommendations compiled by the user; also written web log,
Weblog; also called blog. (courtesy http://www.dictionary.com)

What is a blog good for?

For genealogists, weblogs are good for many things. First of all
they’re generally free. Also whereas you have to have some sort
of an eye for design for creating a personal web space, blog
sites generally have very attractive templates to choose from
and they are easy to set up.

Probably the most popular place for starting your own weblog is
at Blogger (http://www.blogger.com/start). It’s
completely free and very easy to set up.

Some examples of genealogy related blogs:
http://vitalrecordssearch.blogspot.com/
http://dearmyrtle.blogspot.com/ http://www.genhelp.org/

Another blog site used for more professional weblogs is
TypePad (http://www.typepad.com). It’s free for the first
30 days and ranges in price starting from $4.95 per month.

Example: http://eogn.typepad.com/

Why should you start a blog?

A blog is a good place to keep track of your research. For
example, if somewhere down the line you have a question such as
“Where was I when I found that article about great-grandfather
George’s train accident?” you can just pull up your trusty blog
and you’ll see that you were at the Philadelphia main public
library that day.

In addition, if you wish to share research with your family
members, just send them the link to your weblog. If they have a
tidbit to give you in return, they can comment on an entry with
the click of a button.

If that weren’t enough, having a weblog means all your research
is located in one safe place. No shuffling through papers or
wondering if the dog chewed up your hastily sketched notes about
your maternal grandmother’s great-grandparents which were last
seen on top of a pile of mail on the kitchen table.

Finally, if you do start a personal family history weblog that
you’d like to share, email us at deadfred and let us know
(archivists@deadfred.com). We’re hoping to start a comprehensive
list to aid all genealogy researchers find the information
they’re looking for.

Now that you are armed with a web-savvy knowledge of blogs, go
out and impress your friends (and your children) by creating one
for yourself. Just be sure to tell them there is no need to
search for a cure.

Nature’s solutions for your skin problem

Filed under: Blogerati — admin @ 7:57 pm

The face is a part of the body that every one desires to keep as
its best, because it’s the most visible part of our body. So, if
this important part becomes disfigured, an emotional reaction
occurs. That is why people are so conscious whenever they have
any spots on their face. It makes them feel less confident on
the way they deal with people because of the affected self
esteem that these marks could bring.

An example of an upsetting skin disorder is Acne. It’s a common
chronic disorder of the sebaceous glands present on the skin,
characterized by the presence of blackheads, whiteheads,
pustules, nodules, and cysts. It occurs predominantly on the
face, chest, back, and upper arms.

This skin problem could appear between the ages of 12 and 30 but
usually becomes more marked during adolescence, maybe it’s
because at this age certain endocrine glands of the body are at
their peak of activity, which influences the quantity of the
secretions of the sebaceous glands.

Some factors that would worsen acne condition may be periods of
emotional stress, premenstrual phase and when diet contains an
excess of fats. Consequently, treatments are needed in order to
prevent follicular obstruction, reduce inflammation, combat
secondary infection, and eliminate factors that may predispose
to acne.

There are many ways on how to treat acne, some of which are
available in the market, but the fact is that too many chemicals
are involved in most acne treatment and not all these products
has the effectiveness they claim.

Today, people had come to realize the importance of natural acne
medications. More and more people are opting for the natural way
of treating acne because it has lesser side effects. Plus, many
people find it more affordable and at the same time effective,
compared to the commercial acne medications.

Natural is Beautiful

One of the best things about natural acne medications is that it
functions the same way as the commercial acne medications, but
cheaper. This is why more people are looking for these
solutions, as an alternative way for those who cannot afford the
expensive treatments.

Generally, these natural acne medications contain natural
ingredients and biological substances such as tea tree oil,
green tea extract, Vitamin E, rapeseed oil, Aloe vera, and some
of the essential oils, which had long been proven to act upon
any blemishes on the skin.

Take for example the green tea extract. It is considered as an
antioxidant, which has been proven to reduce the effects of the
harmful chemicals and pollutants that damage the skin. Because
of its Polyphenols component, a certain genre from the
Bioflavonoid family, it was found out that it has high
anti-oxidant assets, which experts find it higher than what the
vitamin E has. It is also known to be an efficient
anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial agent, which is the main
component needed in the treatment of acne problems.

The Prevention

People should start using natural acne medications today,
instead of the commercialized and expensive treatments, because
the more complex the treatment the more you will have difficulty
in treating acne.

Experts further contend that complex solutions and multifaceted
medications are more susceptible in worsening the problem. This
is because too many chemicals in the skin tend to over
manipulate the skin, thereby, causing more clogged pores.

So, for better acne treatment, it is best to look for the
natural acne medications that will not only help you enhance
your appearance but are also bio-friendly in the environment. As
they say, “the real beauty is natural beauty”.

Free SEO Blog Content: Use It To Generate Huge Six Figure Traffic Hits

Filed under: Blogerati — admin @ 12:08 am

Free SEO blog content is powerful and the source of lots of envy from other site owners struggling to win just a little traffic.

I vividly remember in the days before I discovered the power of free SEO blog content, I would visit blogs that had already clocked millions of hits. I would look around curiously and with lots of envy trying to find ways to get the magic to rub off on my then traffic-starved blogs and me.

Even today it is sometimes a little difficult to believe that just a few lousy words written in a certain order and repeated often enough throughout n article can result in daily six figure traffic hits. But then that’s the power of free SEO blog content.

Free search engine optimized blog content starts with the address of your blog. Never underestimate the power of including important keywords in the address of your blog. It is a fact that when leading search engine robots spider your site, they quickly take note of the keywords in the title and the result is that your site is ranked highly in search engine results for that particular keyword phrase.

Free SEO blog content that you generate at your blog on a daily basis using different keyword phrases accumulates a huge number of different keyword phrases after a short period of time. The result is that even if each keyword phrase gives you a mere 12 hits on average daily, after 3 months of daily content creation using different keywords, your blog will be enjoying over a thousand hits daily.

After that things tend to accumulate rather quickly. Stuff like people linking to your blog and email opt-in lists growing fast. The result is that a few months later your traffic will have grown to tens of thousands, daily.

Oh my, the wonders of free SEO blog content.

So the big question now for those still in the dark is how a person generates those magic keyword phrases to help them create free SEO blog content?

Christopher Kyalo is a successful online entrepreneur. Read the rest of this article at his Free SEO Blog Content site.
