Acne Treatment begins with a Change in Your Diet:

Filed under: Hair + Skin Care — admin @ 12:41 am

Dear Friend,

As the Father of Medicine; Hippocrates once stated: “Let your foods be your medicine, and your medicine your food”

It will be an understatement to say he is correct and had I known of this during my close to a decade of marring acne and sheer waste of money on so-called acne products, perhaps my life-at that time-would have been much happier.

Well, now that I do know, with the staggering number of acne patients left (last time I stumbled on the number, we are talking 50 million plus people folks!), I feel the least I can do is inform or better still remind the public of this simple discipline towards acne treatment, naturally and permanently.

I can boldly say, starting today, if you suffer from acne and want to see it gone, like I did so many years back: You have to stop eating acid-forming/disease forming foods. In lay-man terms: Junk and processed foods and drinks. How did I figure this out? Well, at the time I was a Michael Jackson fan and had read in some books on him that he as well as Jermaine, his brother, suffered from severe acne as teens but were able to control it with a change in their diet, from the Standard American diet to a healthier vegetarian one.

Needless to say, I swore off junk food as the first step towards a successful acne treatment and started doing my own research to validate this claim and indeed, that suggestion is correct. “You are what you eat!” is a saying known all over the world, and what you consume has arguably the most effect on your overall health. Now since the skin, according to Dr. Stanley Burroughs, is the second most important eliminating organ, it only makes sense that what is consumed should not leave a detrimental residue to aggravate skin eruptions.

Moreover, all processed and junk foods and even foods of the animal kingdom, tend to not only constipate the visceral organs, but they poison the blood, which my friends aggravates the other causes of poor health like stress, insomnia and the like. Remember, blood DOES flow through the brain. No one is saying that other factors like losing a job, death and the like don’t still exist. Far from it, but from an internal point of view, you have to make the effort to change your diet for not only acne treatment but overall improved health and fitness.

That said, herein lies a suggestion for a successful treatment of acne conditions. No, I’m not a religious fanatic but hey the Creator cannot be wrong folks: “Every herb bearing Seed and ever fruit bearing see in it shall be yours for food. Gen 1: 29″
Okay, I’ll break it down, for a successful acne treatment, eat more (if not exclusively)
Fruits and vegetables. Of course they are best enjoyed raw AND organic (if possible), but can be also relished properly cooked. (So don’t steam with excess water AND by all means AVOID THE MICROWAVE-trust me I know what I’m saying)

Also, for external acne treatments ensure that you change the pillow-case nightly if possible, sleep on the right side (face clearly off the pillow), avoid harsh chemicals, avoid positioning your face underneath a shower (especially when it’s hot)…this for 2 reasons-doing so introduces harmful chlorine into your lungs and from my experience, aggravates acne by drying out the skin and consequently suggesting to the dermis that it needs to produce more oil than needed to lubricate the skin.

You may want to pick up facial massaging or simply washing the face with cool water.
In addition, it doesn’t hurt to occasionally steam your face. Try using boiled DISTILLED water though for the same reasons on avoiding Chlorine inhalation above.

Now, you try this for a week and I bet you, you will see a drastic improvement in your skin condition via this superior, yet common sense method of acne treatment.

Sincerely,

Foras Aje

PS
It’s been fun writing this, but I wanted to add…throw in a fast or a restricted fruit diet of a seasonal Juicy fruit for just 3 days with the external factors above. You will thank me that I told you this…trust me.

Makeup Tips for Eyes, Lips and Face

Filed under: Hair + Skin Care — admin @ 9:43 am

When I hit my 30’s, I decided to get more serious about skin care and makeup. I’ve become a regular at Department Store ‘Bonus Days’, when you buy an item and get a bunch of samples for free! Cosmetics and makeup can be fun, easy and inexpensive if you follow these tips!

Your Eyes:

1. For great looking eyes make sure to use powder shadows for a natural look and a eyeliner pencil for drama at night. Make sure the liner has a smudge tip at one end to get that smoky eye look. Only line the top of the eye is you’re looking tired. You don’t want to bring more attention to dark circles under the eyes. Neutral tones with a hint of color are flattering on everybody.

2. For sheen on the eyelids, dab a bit of Vaseline for a pretty reflective quality, as well as moisture.

3. Open up the eye with a gold/beige shimmery high lighter onto the brow bone.

4. Don’t throw away cash on an expensive eye makeup remover! Find a pretty glass bottle and fill it with baby shampoo.

5. If your cream eye shadow dries out, use a few drops of water or mineral oil to soften it up again.

5. Potatoes, like cucumbers, will reduce the appearance of dark, under-eye circles.

Your Lips:

1. Use blush as a lipstick, then use clear gloss or lip balm over it. Longer staying power.

2. Natural ingredients have been used for centuries as makeup: apply beet juice to lips and cheeks as a stain,or mix it with melted bees wax to make your own lip balm! Cayenne pepper can plump the lips, but use with caution!

3. Use eye makeup remover to treat super dry, chapped lips. It’s a great nighttime lip treatment!

Your Face:

1. For a longer lasting foundation try a product with silicone. The silicone creates a sweat-proof and smudge resistant second skin. For me, I find it helps with my rosacea because the live yeast extract has healing powers.

2. A powder bronzer under blush can really even out skin tone. I dab my brush in the bronzer, then into the blush and lightly cover my whole face.

3. For a new bronzer, use a foundation that is two to three shades darker than your skin tone and apply where you would use your bronzer. In a pinch you could use a brown eye shadow.

4. Papaya mixed with plain yogurt into a paste makes a great exfoliating mask for all skin types!

5. Use an egg white mask for a quick fix for diminishing the appearance of pores.

It Can’t Be An Accident If You Do It On Purpose: 6 Steps To Getting Anything You Want

Filed under: Hair + Skin Care — admin @ 7:00 pm

Have you ever had a time in your life when things were going really well? I mean really well? Effortlessly, as if by accident, you wish for something and the right people, the right circumstances and resources show up. You easily reach a goal that once seemed impossible. It almost seems like a dream - a fleeting moment of luck. What if you could harness that ability whenever you want to achieve anything you want in your life? Imagine…more focus, money, freedom and fun could be yours for the asking. Would you learn the secret? Would you use it?

Successful people attract abundance into their lives with purpose and intention. It is the secret that all people who maintain success and prosperity in their lives share. It’s a secret that many don’t talk about openly. Why? Most people believe that working harder, longer and with more effort is the key to great success, and they don’t believe that success could come any other way. After all, isn’t that what we were all taught in school? Get a great education, go to college, and get a job. Well, let’s face it - it’s not working so well is it?

The truth is I experienced a lot of financial success at an early age. Millions of dollars came into my life. I worked hard to grow a multi-million dollar business. After all, grow a bigger business is the goal, right? Wrong. The pursuit of success led me to an unbalanced approach to life. Work hard, no play, go in early and leave late became my mantra.

I couldn’t take it. It had to stop. Somewhere there was a key to finding the balance I craved. But where? Who could tell me the secret? How did successful people have it all - a profitable business, health, family and free time? I asked every successful person I knew to tell me the secret. They all told me that true success comes from mastering the skill of manifesting - bringing into reality the things that you want using your mind. In essence, it is about using the infinite resources of energy, the Universe, to assist you in your quest.

Could it really be true? Could anyone manifest his or her own version of success on a continuous, repetitive and consistent basis? Was there really an infinite source of energy and knowledge, just waiting to help me? I had to find out, and I had nothing to lose. So I practiced, learned, and great things happened. Today this powerful system is an integral part of my everyday life, and I am proud to share it with you. Do you want great things to happen to you too? Start here and they will.

Step 1. Make a decision to have what you want, when you want it.

This is deceptively simple. It would seem that making the decision to have whatever you want would be easy, but most people are tentative when it comes to being specific. People say things like “It would be nice if…” and “We’ll see what happens when…”. It won’t work. First, you must state that “I am in the process of…” or “I will be” when making a decision. Make sure you’re clear on when you will receive the results. You must be resolute, and allow no one (not even yourself) to undermine your confidence in your decision.

So what do you want? Starting thinking and practicing now. Here are a couple of practice sentences to get you started.

- I am in the process of becoming a millionaire by the time I am 50.

- I will be living a life of personal and financial freedom on or before my 45th birthday.

- I am going to have a weeklong Italian vacation in 2005.

Start small. “I’m having chicken for lunch today” is a very decisive statement. “I am going on vacation in Los Angeles for a week in June” is also decisive. Once you have practiced and mastered this decisive language, you are ready to move on to step 2.

2. Be clear about the outcome.

The next step is to be extremely clear about the details of the outcome. This is done in the context of what you DO want, not what you DON’T want. Practice visualizing yourself in the situation you want to create. How do you do this? Once again, the simplest way is to start small.

Think about this: when ordering a salad in a restaurant, you choose the type of lettuce, vegetables, cheese and dressing. You visualize how the salad will look when it arrives at your table. You are clear about what you want. After all, when you’re thinking about the salad, you don’t have a visual picture of a chicken sandwich in your mind, do you? Of course not! You have a visual image of the salad you wish to eat. It works the same with bigger items, like financial freedom. You must visualize the money, the bank statements, investments or just plain truckloads of money arriving into your life.

3. Detach from the process.

One thing that holds many people back is not knowing “how” to do something. Forget it. The “how to do it” instructions will appear after you have clearly defined what you want.

Take the example of ordering the salad. After you order, you don’t have to worry about how the salad will take shape. Every restaurant prepares salad differently, but the outcome is the same - it arrives at your table ready to eat. It is the same with all other events in your life.

4. Expect that it will happen.

Now that you’re decisive and clear about what you want and not trying to control the process, set an expectation that what you want will in fact appear. It may not appear in the way you thought or at the precise time. Possibilities you thought were a sure thing may disappear. In fact, you may even experience frustration, anxiety or impatience trying to control the outcome. Ask yourself “what lesson could I learn from this experience” and turn it into a personal growth opportunity.

5. Be Open To Possibility

As I mentioned in the last step, the path to the outcome may (and probably will) show up in ways you never imagined before. It is your job to explore possibility. Suspend judgment of how things should be done based on your past experiences and ask yourself “Is the situation, person or resource that is in front of me supposed to help me on my journey?” “If so, how?” When you ask the question, you will be given the answers - one step at a time.

6. Practice Gratitude.

Are you thankful for the things you have in your life right now? Do you look at your challenges as an opportunity to grow or a burden that needs to be eliminated? When you practice being thankful for specific events in your life, including the burdens, even when you don’t understand why they appear in your life, your ability to manifest accelerates almost to the speed of thought.

Practicing these steps means taking action, being consistent and being open to change. Getting what you want does not always mean that it is easy. Challenges occur. Emotions, other people’s negative views and comments set you back. But in the end, it all comes back down to your choice. Choose to get what you want and it will happen for you. That’s a promise. Guaranteed.

Beauty - How Deep Does Your’s Go?

Filed under: Hair + Skin Care — admin @ 9:37 am

There is the obvious beauty - what is visible on the surface… your appearance.

There is the beauty that is unseen, that comes from within and radiates outwards.

Your “appearance” is important. I have a physical body that I am responsible for, just like a pet, while I exist here on Earth. Like a valued pet, I want to treat my body nicely, kindly and pamper it.

Do you want your car to last for a long time and give you good service? Put in gas, oil, do regular maintenance and prevention and every once in awhile, splurge on an expensive wax job. Give that car the royal treatment. It gets you where you want to go.
Do the same for your body.

Practice good hygiene. Use good products to take care of your type of skin and hair. Practice daily “MRP” (maintenance, repair and prevention). Treat yourself to a luxurious body soak, paint your toe nails bright red, dress up in gorgeous colors, treat yourself to a mud pack! Get the general idea?

Your body will soak up this attention. Love it up!

At the core of each of us… often forgotten and covered over with many dark layers, is a different kind of beauty. Some of us have strayed so far off the path, that the beauty is not even recognizable or apparent.

Trust me, it is there! It may be buried deep, but it is there.
I feel real satisfaction in my life, when I am striving towards living a virtuous life. Because I want to, not because I have to. Being kind without any hidden agenda, because it feels good to help someone. Period.

I am by no means a saint. Like everybody else, everyday I am presented with many opportunities to practice virtues or practice “sins”. Sometimes, I make mistakes. Now when I become aware of the error, I have a choice. I can do nothing and add another nasty layer to cover my heart, or I can do something that will peel away a layer.

Being on a spiritual path, committed to being beautiful on the inside and out, is not always easy. It is rewarding though. Every step forward, peeling off more and more layers of junk… is a step towards lightness, freedom and joy!

Whistle While You Work

Filed under: Hair + Skin Care — admin @ 5:26 pm

Are you stuck in a job you hate? Do you dread getting up five days a week and live only for the weekend? If so, consider the wise words of Goethe, an eighteenth century German poet/philosopher, “It is not doing the things we like but liking the things we do that makes life blessed.” This is good advice and certainly the best place to start.

There’s no way you’ll find the perfect job by complaining about the one you have. Complaining only brings you more of what you’ve already got to complain about. That’s the way things work. The secret to career success is to look for and find satisfaction in your present situation. Once you do, a whole new world of possibility can open up for you. Maybe even your dream job.

Satisfaction brings more satisfaction. Finding ways to love and enjoy your work gets you to lighten up. You become more agreeable and cooperative, more awake and alert, more focused and productive. Looking for reasons to feel good about your work is a creative act in itself. It generates more creativity and allows more good things to come into your life.

Who knows what can happen then? Maybe you’ll actually get to like your job? Maybe you’ll get the promotion and raise you want and now deserve? Maybe someone else will offer you a better position? Or maybe you’ll discover the self discipline and self esteem to create a successful business of your own? Anything is possible when you feel positive about what you’re doing!

So get in step with the “Seven Dwarfs” and “Put on that grin and start right in and whistle while you work.” Obviously, Snow White’s little friends were marching to the right tune. After all, they ended up with their own diamond mine!

5 Ways to Create More of Want You Want

Filed under: Hair + Skin Care — admin @ 6:15 pm

1. Decide what it is that you want to create. How will you know when you’ve got it? What will you see, hear, and feel? Is it achievable by you or will you need assistance? What will achieving this outcome mean to you? Does it feel right for all parts of your life? When do you want it? Take time to consider these questions. Make your goals big and expansive. Feel the excitement and passion they arouse in you. Write down the your goals.

2. Consistently focus on what you want, not what you don’t want. People are often keen to tell you what they don’t want in life and struggle with focussing on what they do want. The danger with this is that you are regularly thinking about what you don’t want in your life. There is a part of your brain that is known as the Reticular Activating System, and it is actively looking for what you focus on. For example, if you were enter a car show room and choose a car in a particular green, it is likely that when you leave the show room you would see that colour car everywhere. So, by raising your awareness of what you want, you begin to get more of what you are focussing on. So begin consistently thinking about what you do want. Keep a watch on what thoughts are going through your head. Let go of those that don’t make you feel good. (You will also notice that this naturally lifts your mood.)

3. Be flexible. The more flexible your attitude, the more chance you have of reaching your goal. If one thing isn’t working, then look for another way. Doing more of what doesn’t work, won’t help you get the result you want. The ‘how tos’ will appear if you keep looking and hence learning. All experience is of value. Practice being flexible in everyday things to build up the habit. Go to places you would previously have avoided. Taste new foods. Be open to meeting new people, listen to different music, read new subject matter. Stay open. Surf the internet.

4. Stay focussed. It can be easy to be distracted. Once you begin to tap into your creativity in order to create more of what you want, you are unleashing that dynamic creative force! Ideas will keep coming up! To keep yourself on track, coach yourself, by reminding yourself of what this goal will mean to you. How will your life be different when you have achieved this goal? See that picture you created, feel the feelings and listen to what answer comes up for you. Any time you are thinking, listening or speaking you are focusing. Choose your thoughts carefully. Listen to what comes out of your mouth. Remember: you get more of what you focus on.

5. Choose your peers carefully. Look at the people with whom you are spending time. Are they like-minded? Are they proactive achievers? Do you admire the way they live their lives? Do they support you in moving forwards in your life, or are they quick to point out the negatives or put you down? Are they generally positive people? Are they happy to share your successes? Do you feel good in their company? If the answers reflect that these relationships are not working in your favour, decide what you are going to do about this.

Notice how like attracts like, and once you are following all of the above, more of what you want magically appears in your life. Of course, you will only know, by implementing these five steps. Good luck.

Maximizing Your Potential - How To Optimize Your Off-Peak Performance?

Filed under: Hair + Skin Care — admin @ 2:13 am

We human beings naturally have two kinds of state that exist in us at any given time: peak state and off-peak state. Peak performance can be defined as “performing at your most optimal best at this time”. An off-peak state would mean that we are not performing at the optimal level.

So “optimizing your off-peak performance” simply means to convert your non-peak performance to a peak performance state.

Suppose you hold a full-time job and you do Internet Marketing part-time. By the time you got home, you would quite likely be too tired to work on your online venture. At this moment, you are in an off-peak state because you cannot perform at an optimal level as compared to your work rate in your primary job. By using an “off-peak performance optimization” technique, you would be able to perform at your optimal level even though you are tired. In this scenario, a peak state would mean that you would be able to work just as effectively during ‘off-hours’.

Regardless of any state that you are in, whether you procrastinate or you don’t have the mood to write a special report just because you have a bad hair day, you will be ready, set and GO using this technique!

Now, let’s imagine. If we could achieve X amounts of result during our peak state, what would it be like if we can double or even triple our results just by converting our non-peak state into a peak state? The effect is mind-blowing!

This technique is called “anchoring”. An anchor is a stimulus that enables you to fire off any state that you want in an instant. A stimulus is anything you see, hear or feel.

There are 3 kinds of anchors: visual anchor, auditory anchor and kinesthetic anchor.

1) Visual anchors are visual sights that are neurologically linked to a particular state. Does your nasty supervisor’s face makes you feel lousy when you go to work? At the sight of your girlfriend, do you have a wonderful feeling? Do you feel sleepy when you start reading your textbook?

2) Auditory anchors are sounds that are neurologically linked to a particular state. When someone shouts “FIRE” or “FIRE SALE!”, does the sound of “FIRE” make you panicky? Does hearing beautiful sounds leave you a romantic feeling?

3) Kinesthetic anchor is when someone touches you in a certain way or you move in a certain way that fires off a particular state. Do you feel loved when you are hug by your loved ones? Do you feel like laughing when a clown moves in a funny way?

Whenever you are in an intense associated state, the state will be neurologically linked to the anchor. When this happens, all you have to do is to apply the same anchor repeatedly and you will immediately experience the same state consistently.

Here are 4 steps to creating a powerful anchor for any resourceful state:

1) Get into an intense, fully associated state. Think back to a time in the past when you felt a particular intense, fully associated state. Adopt the same physiology you were in. Assuming you wanted to anchor the state of motivation to work in front of your PC (or MAC!). Think of the time you felt totally motivated and adopt the same physiology, e.g. the same kind of sitting posture and breathing pattern when you felt totally motivated.

2) Apply the anchor at the peak of the state! A combination of an auditory and kinesthetic anchor would yield the best results, e.g. you could snap your fingers and shout “YES!”

3) Break the state, then repeat steps 1 & 2 at least five to ten times. Think of something else to break an unwanted state. Repeat steps 1 & 2 for five to ten times until the new anchor is successfully installed.

4) Test the anchor. Test the anchor to see whether it works. Get into the normal state and apply the anchor e.g. snap finger and shout “YES!” If it works, the anchor is installed successfully. The best way to test the anchor would be the time when you are not feeling motivated.

In short, “optimizing your off-peak performance” would enable you to access the resourceful state that you want instantly.

Write down 5 resourceful states that you would like to have and the 5 anchors associated with it.

Ways Leading To Hairloss

Filed under: Hair + Skin Care — admin @ 7:47 pm

All of us lose hair everyday, whether male or female, young or old. This is pretty obvious from the hair that is left in our brush or comb. Also, you can easily find fallen hair that collects near the drain pipe in your shower room.

Most of us lose hair every day; you only have to look at your hair brush or comb to see this is true. In fact, this may surprise you but every two to three months we may find we lose up to 10 percent of our hair. It is a natural growth cycle that hair undergoes. New hair grows, and old hair falls out because they have reached the end of their life cycle which varies from between two and six years. What alerts someone to his hair loss is when he begins to suspect that more hair is lost than “normal” and that a balding scalp is beginning to form.

There are varying reasons as to why someone may lose more than the normal amounts of hair. It could be hormonal - relating to the thyroid or the male or female hormones may be out of balance. Sometimes people may lose hair some months after they have experienced an illness or major surgery. Sometimes after giving birth some women may experience more hair loss than normal - this is due to the hormones returning back to their normal levels.

Certain medications may also cause hair loss. These medicines include blood thinners (anticoagulants), those used to treat gout, chemotherapy, contraceptive pills and some antidepressants. Too much vitamin A can also lead to a loss of hair. Hair loss may also occur due to an underlying disease that may not have been diagnosed, such as Lupus or diabetes, so any unusual hair loss is always best to get checked out by your physician.

How a person takes care of his or her hair has an impact on hair loss. Hair loss can be more severe if hair is often tied up (pig tails or cornrows), or in tight hair rollers on a regular basis. The constant pulling on the hair can cause a type of scarring and in the long term could lead to permanent hair loss. Also, prolonged use of hot oil hair treatments or chemicals used in perms may cause swelling of the hair follicle, which can result in scarring and lead to hair loss.

Then of course, there are the more common or well known types of hair loss - male pattern baldness - brought about be genetic factors. This usually starts off with a receding hair line and baldness eventually appearing on top of the head.

While hair loss is more common in men, women are not spared totally either. Women may also suffer from the female version of this type of Alopecia whereby the hair becomes thin over their entire scalp.

In some of the forms of hair loss mentioned above, hair loss can be treated, either by changing medication, balancing hormones, and if temporary, letting nature take its course. Others though, such as male or female pattern baldness can be trickier to deal with. If you intend to sign up for a particular hair loss treatment course, be sure to do some research first before paying huge sums of money for it.
